Research interests:
My group is interested in DNA metabolism in C. elegans. Specifically, we are studying the mechanisms of recombination in the germ line. Areas of active research include the mechanisms of crossover interference, gene conversion, synthesis-dependent strand annealing and double-strand break repair. Our deeper understanding has allowed the development of improved techniques for mapping of mutations, inducible activation of gene expression and the development of methods for single copy gene insertion into chromosomes.
